Southeast Asian countries have abundant sunlight with a sunshine amount of 1,460-1,900kWh per square meter per year as well as natural advantages of photovoltaic power generation; influenced by geographic conditions, there are problems of underdeveloped electricity and lack of electricity for a long term in some countries and regions restricting the economic development. The energy problem must be resolved; photovoltaic power generation becomes one feasible solution for current energy problems. Except East Timor, 11 countries in Southeast Asia are all member countries for ASEAN. To promote the development of renewable energies, ASEAN has stipulated the development target for renewable energies, that is, renewable energies should account for 23% for the overall energy supply by 2025. SOKOYO is maturely developed in Southeast Asian market, possesses agents in many countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc., and has exported millions of solar street light products and accessories.

Taking annual average sunshine duration as the evaluation standard, there are two regions with long sunshine duration in the world. One of them is in Africa. The African land spans 30°N-30°S with long sunshine duration. Sahara in the north is an area with long sunshine duration, and its annual sunshine duration is 3,000-3,500h; Gulf of Guinea and Congo Basin in the middle are areas with long sunshine duration, but they also have a sunshine duration exceeding 2,000h. The southern area has long sunshine duration, i.e., 2,500-3,500h. For example, the sunshine duration in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, etc. is 2,500-3,500h. While the sunshine duration in Liberia, southern Nigeria, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, etc. in the west is 2,000-2,500h. This is the most developed area with solar energies across the world. In recent years, SOKOYO has exported hundreds of thousands of solar street lights to Nigeria, Tunisia, South Africa, Djibouti, Cameroon, Benin, Zimbabwe and other countries.

In some Middle Eastern regions close to North Africa, as their climate environment is similar, Arab Gulf States represented by Saudi Arabia are also huge potential market for utilization of solar energies. These countries have gradually seen the advantages of solar power generation in many aspects such as cost, employment, getting rid of over-dependence on oil economy, as well as changing and optimizing the economic structure. SOKOYO has exported hundreds of thousands of solar street lights and supporting products to Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and other countries.

Due to long sunshine duration, Latin America is called as one of the best regions to develop photovoltaics in the world. Taking Brazil as an example, there are more than 280 sunny days every year; Chilean Atacama Desert in South America is known as the “World Dry Pole” with an annual precipitation less than 0.1mm, and it has not rained for 91 consecutive years. As the economy is developing fast and its demand in electricity is continuously increasing, many countries in Latin America lack of electricity in different degrees. Compared with traditional energies, the cost for solar photovoltaic power generation is very competitive. Thus, many countries have begun to support the solar development strongly. SOKOYO has exported tens of thousands of solar street lights to Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador and other countries.

Generally, the stereotype on Europe is short sunshine duration with a temperature of 5-10℃ in winter and 21-27℃ in summer. Its annual precipitation is about 350-900mm and centered in winter. The precipitation in the second half of the year only accounts for 20-40% of that in the full year. However, Europe is facing a serious energy shortage at present. As a green renewable energy, the demand for solar energy increases greatly due to factors such as economic development and consumption upgrading of the European Union. SOKOYO is committed to promoting high-quality solar street lights conforming with European norms, helping resolve roadway lighting and contributing to green energy and carbon neutrality. Its products have been exported to Armenia and France.
